Mid/Rear Assembly
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2014-2016 Honda Odyssey vehicles. The second row outboard seats have a lever to fold the seatback and slide the seat forward to access the third row seats. Due to a manufacturing error, if the walk-in release lever is used to fold a fully reclined left outboard seatback forward, the seatback may stay in the unlocked position (free-folding) or unexpectedly…

Risk: An unlocked second row left outboard seatback increases the risk of injury to the seat occupant during a crash.
Fix: Honda will notify owners, and dealers will confirm proper operation of the second row left outboard seatback, and install a support bracket to the seat recliner. If the seatback cannot lock, dealers will replace the seatback frame assembly. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The…

Mid/Rear Assembly
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2011-2017 Honda Odyssey vehicles. The second row outboard seats can slide sideways to one of two positions. If a seat is placed between either of the two positions when attaching the seat to the vehicle floor, the seat will not latch properly to the seat striker, allowing the seat to tip forward unexpectedly during braking.

Risk: If the seat tips forward during braking, it can increase the risk of injury.
Fix: Honda will notify owners, and dealers will install a bracket to the second row outboard floor strikers, free of charge. The recall began April 2, 2018. Owners may contact American Honda Customer Support & Campaign Center at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is S0G.

Summaries are quoted verbatim from NHTSA's official campaign records. A single campaign often covers dozens of model years and several nameplates, so a summary may name vehicles other than the 2015 Odyssey — that is normal. Every record listed here carries this vehicle's own make, model and model year in NHTSA's database. Whether a recall is still open on a particular car can only be determined by VIN.

Engine (30 complaints)

I first experienced an engine misfire in February 2025. The vehicle had a P0301 misfire code, and at the time I was unaware of Honda’s extended warranty related to this issue. We had a trusted mechanic friend inspect the vehicle and replace the spark plugs and ignition coils. He noted that there was significant carbon buildup. After those repairs, the vehicle appeared to run normally, and we believed the issue had been resolved. Later, I received Honda’s extended warranty notice and realized that the issue I experienced may have been related to the condition covered by the warranty. I contact

I had an engine failure on my odyssey that was causing a single piston to misfire - that i then had a honda dealer repair for around $3500. A couple months later i received a letter indicating this specific type of error was now under a recall for my vehicle so i submitted all the documentation for the recall reimbursement. That was in August of 2025 and I have still not received reimbursement - each time I contact Honda i am told this is just the normal process but nobody is able to provide me a date of when it will be reimbursed.

Power Train (24 complaints)

The car sporadically does not shift from 1st 2 second and then abruptly shuts cause a loud jerk of engine and car. It is startling and scary when it happens. I’m afraid the car will break down while in the road. Every time we take the car to dealership they “cannot replicate” issue therefore there is nothing to fix on an issue that is all over the internet with Honda vans and suvs.

Vehicle shifts abruptly from 1st to 2nd gear at feels like car will fall apart when that happens. It has happened multiple time throughout the time we owned the vehicle. Dealerships just does a transmission fluid replacement $230 watch time but no permanent solution. Were afraid transmission will fail in traffic.

There is paint peeling off the back on my van. I have seen this issue on other Honda Odyssey’s (same year) driving on the road.
