I DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS A TAKATA RECALL OR NOT. MY SRS LIGHT CAME ON AS I ENTERED MY NEIGHBORHOOD. I SMELLED A BURNT SMELL. I PARKED UNDER THE CAR PORT AND PUT THE CAR IN PARK. I WAS ABOUT TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE WHEN THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED. IT BROKE THE WINDSHIELD, THE GLOVE BOX AND THE REAR VIEW MIRROR.

ABS WARNING LIGHT ON. TAKEN TO DEALER MANY TIMES OVER SEVERAL YEARS. BEFORE WARRANTY EXPIRED, DEALER TOPPED-OFF FLUID. PROBLEM RETURNED IN A FEW WEEKS AND REPEATED VISITS TO DEALER RESULTED IN SAME REMEDY. EVENTUALLY, DEALER ADVISED REPLACEMENT OF OUT-OF-WARRANTY ACCUMULATOR FOR $498.98. AFTER REPLACEMENT, PROBLEM RETURNED LESS THAN A WEEK LATER. DEALER FURTHER ADVISED REPLACING THE REST OF THE ABS SYSTEM AT A COST OF OVER $1000. BRAKES OTHERWISE WORK FINE. *NM

LAP AND SHOULDER BELT IN REAR SEAT HAD RETRACTED AROUND CHILD'S NECK AFTER CHILD UNLATCHED BELT. WHEN IT RETRACTED AROUND CHILD'S NECK IT LEFT A RED MARK AROUND CHILD'S NECK. SEAT BELT HAD LOCKED, AND HAD TO BE CUT TO GET LOOSE. CONTACTED DEALER, AND DEALER STATED SEAT BELT WAS BUILT ACCORDING TO GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS.*AK

WHEN THE LEFT BACK RESTRAINT WAS RELEASED, IT RETRACTED WITH THE PASSENGER STILL IN RESTRAINT. OWNER HAD TO CUT THE RESTRAINT TO RELEASE THE CHILD. THE RIGHT BACK RESTRAINT INITIALLY WAS SLOW IN RETRACTING, NOW IT IS LOCKED AND FULLY RETRACTED LEAVING THE RESTRAINT COMPLETELY UNUSABLE. *AK
