Summaries are quoted verbatim from NHTSA's official campaign records. A single campaign often covers dozens of model years and several nameplates, so a summary may name vehicles other than the 2022 Civic — that is normal. Every record listed here carries this vehicle's own make, model and model year in NHTSA's database. Whether a recall is still open on a particular car can only be determined by VIN.
885 owner complaints on file with NHTSA for the 2022 Civic, grouped by the component owners reported. Counts reflect how many owners complained, not how often the fault actually occurs.

A complaint is an unverified owner report. It is a signal about where to look, not proof of a defect.
Verbatim excerpts from NHTSA complaint filings on this model year. These are the owners' own words, not our diagnosis, and each one is a single unverified report.
Sticky steering has returned after the safety recall repair. The steering intermittently sticks and requires extra effort to turn, mostly at highway speeds after driving for a while. No warning lights or messages come on. This is the same defect covered by safety recall 24V744 (Honda bulletin 24-119), and the recall repair (worm gear spring kit and grease) was performed at a Honda dealer in July 2025. The symptom has since come back. The vehicle was taken back to the same Honda dealer. The technician test drove it and could not duplicate the condition, found no codes, and found the wiring to

On Sunday, December 14, 2025, I was driving a 2022 Honda Civic Sport with my wife in the passenger seat when the vehicle’s driver-assist/steering system unexpectedly intervened and caused the vehicle to veer off the roadway and down a steep embankment (approximately 40–50 feet) without driver input. I attempted to correct the vehicle, but the vehicle failed to respond as expected. There was no intentional steering command to leave the roadway. The vehicle appeared to steer itself, resulting in a crash. Both occupants sustained injuries. I suffered a neck/collarbone injury and a concussion. M Crash reported

We purchased our Honda in 2022. Within three months the lane departure system was failing. The wheel was jerky and at times difficult to correct. This occurred while staying in lane and not close to lines on the road. We took it in they identified the issue and replaced it. Within nine months it failed again. This time even worse. They identified it was the same issue. This was December of 2023. Our dealership advised it would be three months to get the necessary parts in. Three months passed. We called, part not in would be another three months. We called back December of 2024. Was advised H

Hello I have a complaint about my clear coat coming off in certain areas. The hood of my car has water spots that will not come off and the passenger side has what looks like rock damage all up and down the side which is actually my clear coat coming off. This car is not that old and this should not be happening. I am at 37 thousand 800 miles and have to drive around in an otherwise perfect condition car. I take good care of my cars and I am very unhappy this is happening. I should not have to repair for any of this to be fixed as this is not my fault. I would appreciate any info on how Honda

To whom it may concern at NHTSA, I am filing a formal complaint regarding a critical technical discrepancy in Honda’s manufacturing records that is preventing essential safety diagnostics and maintenance for my vehicle. Vehicle Details: • VIN: [XXX] • Model: 2022 Honda Civic Touring (11th Generation) • Manufacturing Plant: Honda of Canada Mfg. The Issue: According to the NHTSA Part 565 submittal (which I have verified), this specific VIN is registered with an L15B7 engine (normally associated with the 10th Gen Civic). My vehicle physically carries this engine, and it is documented in my offic

Ever since I purchased my brand new vehicle in 2021, I have had a recurring issue where the cruise control will randomly turn off, with no warnings or alerts showing on the dash, and will not allow the cruise to be set again until I have either turned off the vehicle or my speed has decreased down into the single digits. The vehicle has been seen multiple times by the local Honda dealership with no success on getting this issue to stop. The dealership has been able to reproduce the issue and has said it was due to a software update but even after updating the software, the issue persists. I am

Issue happens whenever I use adaptive Cruise control for any extended period of time. Typically occurs in less than an hour. The vehicle will be in active cruise mode and then the cruise control will suddenly shutoff and a few beeps are heard. I am unable to reactivate cruise control until I perform a key cycle at which point the cruise can be activated again.
