Seat Belts Front Buckle Assembly |

Risk: THE SAFETY BELTS WOULD NOT PROVIDE ADEQUATE PROTECTION TO AN OCCUPANT IN A VEHICLE CRASH. Fix: OWNERS SHOULD PROMPTLY CHECK THE CONDITION AND OPERATION OF BOTH FRONT SAFETY BELT BUCKLES. CAREFULLY INSPECT THE RED RELEASE BUTTON FOR ANY BREAKS OR CRACKS. CHECK THAT BOTH BUCKLES ARE OPERATING PROPERLY BY INSERTING EACH LATCH PLATE INTO ITS BUCKLE, TUG ON THE BELT TO MAKE SURE THE LATCH IS… |
Summaries are quoted verbatim from NHTSA's official campaign records. A single campaign often covers dozens of model years and several nameplates, so a summary may name vehicles other than the 1991 Civic — that is normal. Every record listed here carries this vehicle's own make, model and model year in NHTSA's database. Whether a recall is still open on a particular car can only be determined by VIN.

1991 CIVIC THAT IS HAVING THE SAME IGNITION SWITCH PROBLEM THAT HONDA ISSUED RECALLS FOR IN MID TO LATE 90'S VEHICLES. (INTERMITTENT CURRENT IN RUN POSITION) FROM A BRIEF WEB SEARCH, I FIND THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON HONDA PROBLEM. POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS. CAR WILL STALL UNEXPECTEDLY AT IT'S OWN DISCRETION. *JB

ON FIVE SEPARATE OCCASIONS AUTO COMPLETELY LOST ALL POWER. THREE OF THESE INCIDENTS OCCURRED ON MAIN ROAD STREETS, TWO OCCURRED AT ABOUT 65 MPH ON THE FREEWAY. I HAD IT TOWED IN EACH OCCASION, TO DIFFERENT REPAIR SHOPS SINCE I BROKE DOWN IN 5 DIFFERENT LOCATIONS. AFTER DESCRIBING THIS INCIDENT TO A REPAIR SHOP, THE OWNER SAID THAT HONDA HAS A RECALL OUT ON IGNITION WIRE WHICH IS THE CONTINUOUS CAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. HOW DO I GO ABOUT HAVING HONDA FIX THIS PROBLEM FOR THE RECALL. IT HAS ALREADY COST ME 5 TOWS, 5 MIS-REPAIRS, AND ALMOST A FREEWAY CRASH. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.
